Frozen Lake

This is the only thing that extends from the tundra. It thins into a river and eventually gets to the ocean, but rarely does any wolf dare travel so far. No fish swim here, for long ago humans came and took them all. Since then it's only been a frozen body of water, with the ice almost two meters thick. Should there be a thin spot that a wolf treads upon, and cracks the ice, it will surely be killed. The bottom is 12 feet beneath the surface. Absolutely nothing runs here but brave wolves who make their home atop the thickest ice. Some clear spots in the frozen water reveal skeletons of unfortunate creatures that fell in.
